Growing up, Dr. David Thomas was inspired by his family dentist and the profound impact that relationship had on him. Seeing his dentist and updating him on his life every six months made it easier for him to enjoy his time in the dental chair, and today he is thrilled to form that same type of bond with his own patients near Tukwila.
After completing his education at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Dr. Thomas earned his dental doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh. He next completed an AEGD Residency at the Maricopa Institute of Health Services Hospital in Phoenix, AZ.
Married in 2020, Dr. Thomas and his wife are thrilled to have relocated to Washington to start their family. In addition to helping patients, Dr. Thomas loves being outdoors and soaking up the amazing local scenery.

“I had the absolute best experience as a new patient. My hygienist, Cindy, was so knowledgable and kind. She explained everything in such a digestible way without making anything seem scary. Dr. Thomas was super kind and helpful as well. Jessica also went above and beyond to help get me scheduled and a quote for a night guard. Thank you all so much!”

If it’s been a while since your last dental appointment and you’re seeking a new provider, you might feel uncertain how or where to get started finding one. Oftentimes, performing a basic search on your favorite web browser can produce a local list of results, but then you may have do to a little more research to narrow them down.
It might help to take a few minutes to identify your top priorities regarding oral healthcare. For example, are you seeking a provider who is in-network with your dental insurance plan? Do you also have a family requiring dental care? Are there specific treatments you anticipate wanting or needing that must be offered? Answering these types of questions for yourself can make it easier to find a provider who checks off all the right boxes.
Most patients near Tukwila can expect to spend anywhere from $100 to $400 for a basic checkup and cleaning, but the total cost can vary significantly depending on your unique circumstances.
For instance, if you carry dental insurance, up to 100% of routine preventive visits might be covered, meaning there are no additional out-of-pocket expenses to worry about. However, if our team finds issues such as cavities or gum disease, you’ll also be responsible for the cost of any required procedures, which can increase the total due for your appointment.
You’re not alone if you feel nervous about sitting in the dentist’s chair. Plenty of people avoid everything from basic exams and cleanings to more complex procedures because they feel anxious or afraid.
Fortunately, Dr. Thomas understands this and will do everything possible to help you feel calm and comfortable throughout your visit. For example, he might recommend one of two types of dental sedation offered at our office near Tukwila.
Our team is happy to provide nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, which is inhaled through a mask placed over your nose while we work. We can also prescribe oral conscious sedation in pill form that can also be used to help you feel more relaxed during your procedure. These options aren’t intended to ‘knock you out’, but you might not clearly remember the details of your treatment afterward.
Our practice is in-network with many major dental insurance plans, but we also understand that not all patients have purchased one. At the same time, we don’t want your current financial circumstances to prevent you from undergoing the necessary or desired services to help protect, repair, rebuild, or enhance your smile.
If you’re worried about affording treatments, you might benefit from our in-house membership plan. For a flat monthly fee, you receive routine exams, X-rays, and cleanings, as well as discounts on other in-office procedures.
